board towels after two weeks)! we are travelling on the 18th of
july for 2 weeks so i think the flight prices are brill!
there are 6 of us and we have managed to do the whole holiday for
£1699.00 which is brilliant, i know we will have a bit of
a drive from the airport, but we cant wait!!
i would like to thank everyone for their support to try to get flights
in to Kavala especially Peter Kerrone.
there is only one island for us, and after a lot of searching we

08 Jan 2006 - "We are coming back late june
this year for another chill out probable alchol intake rest, our
forth or fifth time, time realy does stand still on Thassos. We've
traveled the Emerald Jewel and our favorite Places include...
Erics Place-Fantastic rooms great service and of course
Stratos just about the most charasmatic man on Thassos.
Harour Lights in Limenas/Thassos Town. Ace Food, Cold Beer, Excellent
host although i maybe biased (Old Lanlord).
Aberdeen Studios good rooms great hosts (Carol mainly) but watch
out Vassilis he is a nutter/genius.
El Greco in Limenas. Just simply the Best, Illias (ex Pro Football
player) and Gill a Sheffield born Red Head! I believe the best food
on the Island."
From Peter Kerrone, Thornton - Cleveleys, Lancashire,
England
19 Dec 2005 - "Regarding packages from Gatwick,
if you check out Portland Direct, (part of Thomsons'), 2 weeks in
Scala Potomias departing 9th. July,cost,- £850.00. That is
staying at the Hotel Korina, includes transfers, (not sure whether
it includes in- flight meals, - who cares!!?). Insurance is extra,
but then, I always purchase my own for a third of the operators
prices. It's on a B+B basis, and the Korina has one of the largest
pools on the island, it's run by a lovely young couple, (Dimitrius
and Sofia), and located very close to the beach, (no hills to climb
either). We've already booked for 2006. You will be on the same
'plane as the Thomson holidaymakers.
A similar package with Thomson, staying at the Kamelia Hotel, Scala
Potomias, on the same dates, same flights, is £994.00. Both
these hotels can be viewed online. Take your pick!"
From pete &elaine, warwickshire, england.
15 Dec 2005 - "we stopped at blue bay studios
in 1999 and dina&stelios were nicest couple you would ever
meet we get a christmas card every year from them and we return
the compliment.we were wondering if they have a e.mail address
to contact them."
From Alan Rowe, Devon, England
15 Dec 2005 - "I guess thats Nigel and Kim
from Rotherham?!!! How's tricks? Alan here who used to work in the
Full Moon.
I flew from gatwick to Thessaloniki last year with BA in August
the flights were £125.00 each, Car Hire about £400 for
a fortnight (depending on what car you hire) accommodation is about
£500.00 for a fortnight, Ferry costs about £9.00 each
way for a car and 2 passengers, it will take you a tank of fuel
to go to and from Thassos £40.00.
So by my reckoning you can do the trip for £1208.00 (for 2
people) in August.
Remember that you have the use of the car for your entire stay,
I usually hire a car for most of the holiday anyway.
If you stay in a basic village room, you could probably knock off
£150.00. there are quite a few of this type of accommodation
in Limenas, the only problem being that in August it is very busy
especially leading up to and around Panagia day on the 15th August.
Its not massively cheaper, but you could get the bus from Thessaloniki
to Kavala which is about £20.00 return or a taxi which will
cost you about £50.00 both ways (£100.00 total).
The drive is about 3 hours (comfortably) and its a nice route with
very little traffic compared to England the only really busy bit
being leaving thhe airport and getting across Thessaloniki.
There is no doubting that it is easier to fly to Kavala but the
flights are expensive in the height of the season, Thessaloniki
is usually a lot cheaper and there are a lot more flights going
there from the UK.
Hope this can be of some help."
From sandy and bill, ashford, kent, UK.
10 Dec 2005 - "To Nigel Rotherham, how does
your own planned trip compare cost wise to Thomsons prices?"
From Nigel Charlesworth, Rotherham, England
26 Nov 2005 - "At least twice every year my
wife & I fly cheap into Thessaloniki, hire a car [pre-book internet]
& drive to Keramotie on to ferry [about 9 euro car] & across
to Thassos. The drive is easy, picturesque & takes 4 hours steady
including ferry. We stay at the Roula apartment hotel in LIMENAS
Thassos Town, always a great welcome from Nikos & Sofia. Having
done this since the tour ops got greedy I would recommend anyone
to try it."
From Ellen, Swansea, Wales, UK.
22 Nov 2005 - "I recommend Finikas as a
restaurant, George and Arenya (if that's how you spell her name)
are great, we've known them for 4 years and they have seen me
grow into a teenager. They are one lovely couple, the food is
good and they deserve to be recognised."
From Claire, Flintshire, North Wales, UK.
18 Nov 2005 - "Would just like to say, we
visited Thassos for the first time last June and have booked again
to go back next June/July 06. We loved it. I think there is some
truth in that if you drink the spring water you will never want
to leave the island! I loved the fact that there is hardly any crime
on the island and every time we walked past the police station in
Limenas (at night), the police looked very bored! We also kept seeing
the same faces around the town and they would recognise us and say
hello, -imagine how many different people they see during the season!
- which gives you an idea of their community. I now know why people
call it their second home. There is something special about Thassos
and we hope it stays that way."
From liz sargent, norfolk, UK.
06 Nov 2005 - "I had my first trip to Thassos
with my husband at the end of September and had a great time. It
was an end of season cheap trip with Thomsons staying at the Hotel
Socrates at Skala Prinous. We were a little worried about the weather
forecast which seemed to show we were in for rain and thunder storms.
The weather however was brilliant , not scorching but warm enough
to swim in the sea every day. Skala Prinous is a working port and
it shows, especially as we were in the last week of the season.
Having said that the Tavernas we ate in were good and the people
friendly. Our Hotel was great, clean, nice pool, and the owners
very friendly and helpful. The Beach is adequate but not huge, but
we hired a car and really enjoyed discovering the Island. Limenas
is a great palce to eat and shop, The Beautiful Alice Taverna on
Aliki bay had great food, and a beautiful view. On our last day
we had torrential rain and it thundered all day. It was a shame
but it gave us one of those real Greek moments when we dived for
shelter into a cafe. We perhaps would not have intruded in normal
circumstances but the locals were more than friendly and for an
hour we did not feel like tourists at all. Thassos is well worth
a visit and we would go again"
From Alan Rowe, Devon, England
24 Oct 2005 - "Hi All
One of the reasons that flight only companies might not be too
keen to fly to Kavala is the landing costs.
I am sure that I am right in saying that it is very expensive
to land an aircraft at Kavala airport, in fact I think it is one
of the most expensive in Greece.
This aside it would definately be a well used route, I have been
going there since 1984 and have met many folk who return each
year that would welcome a reasonably priced flight into Kavala."
From chris and caroline, sittingbourne, kent,
UK.
23 Oct 2005 - "We have been to Thassos four
times now and we considered ourselves to be "old hands"
until we read how many times other people have been! We simply love
Thassos and you can always tell when someone else is coming back
for another fix because they have that happy "we're home"
look on their faces as they board the ferry. We have stayed at the
Filipidis Studios through portland direct on each of our visits(wonderfully
clean studios and a stones throw from Golden Beach), but as others
have mentioned, we too picked up on a sense that the tour operators
want to come away from the small and friendly hotels and studios
and push tourists towards the large hotels. That not what we want
at all and all the hints and tips given on this website by seasoned
visitors have given us the confidence that we can get to Thassos
under our own steam, so thank you! Our next visit is going to be
February time to experience the festival with our friends Vasilis
and Christina who run the Playa de Oro restaurant at Golden Beach
(fantastic food). I hope it snows!"
From julie flaherty, leicestershire, england.
23 Oct 2005 - "i was very interested to read
the thassos site comments, there are enough people surely that feel
the same as we do, the only problem is motivating them to the same
aim!
im glad we have got over the 'turning thassos into another faliraki"
business.
did u have any response from your s.a.e.'s caus i didn't.
the prices have shot up so much that i cant afford to go back next
year with our 4 children, i certainly will have withdrawal symptoms,
i see that Thomas Cook and Thomsons certainly have the monopoly
and are squeezing the hoteliers out already, what do they want a
Marie Celeste!!!
other tour operators have got to cease the opportunity to use the
facilities and put the life back in to thassos.
i will email nexus again i feel the company is young enough to explore
the probability of using kavala and perhaps expanding in a small
way into the package holiday industry using exisiting businesses
that have been excluded from the 'big boys'.
we could see this coming and im surprised that we accused of scarmongering
in the first place!
its obvious that we care for the island and we were fighting the
fight for the thassonians, and the independant traveller, i wont
rest until i have achieved something for the island i love.
perhaps we should go back to the original idea of posting a petition
on the site for putting the life back in to thassos, because at
the moment i can feel the life being sucked out of thassos by the
'giants of the tour industry'
this is part of a e-mail i sent to pkerrone."
From Colin Carberry, Warwickshire, UK.
13 Oct 2005 - "I've been visiting Thassos
on and off since 1981. In those days, pretty much the only way to
get there was overland via Thessaloniki. I've travelled all over
the World and visited every continent but Thassos keeps dragging
me back! I reckon I must have been back about 15 times now. Normally
stay in Limenas, mainly because I have friends there but I tend
to hire a car and spend my days either on one of the tiny beaches
on the West coast (Prinos/Pefkari/Sotiras way) or up in the hills,
maybe grabbing a peaceful lunch in one of the hill villages like
Maries.
I'll be back there in July 2006. Can't wait!
When you go there, look after Thassos. There are very few places
on Earth as nice as this little island."
From Peter Kerrone, Thornton - Cleveleys, Lancs,
UK.
10 Oct 2005 - "I've checked the online brochures
of Thomas cook and Thomson's for 2006, and it does appear that Emerald
Apts. at Golden Beach, Blue Bay and Athina no longer feature. Thomas
Cook want almost £1200.00 for 2 people at Green Sea Apts.
for 2 weeks in early July. These prices will put off many new visitors
to the island, and possibly some regulars. I have booked two 'flight
only' tickets with Thomson for close to £300.00 p.p. including
all the taxes, fuel charges etc. (but without the £12.00 in
flight meal options, and £15.00 transfers). If you want the
same I suggest you move quickly. Incidentally, those of you who
have Airmiles, can get a reduction on the flights or packages, so
that is a way of cutting costs. You need to phone the Airmile travel
agency, as these cannot be booked online, but they will 'price match'
as well.
I would be very interested to find out the prices being charged
by the Dutch tour operators, and/ or French and Italians, for packages.
Perhaps someone who speaks the lingo, could check these out and
see if they reflect the prices imposed on us?"
From Diane and Barry Frost, Northants, UK.
06 Oct 2005 - "We have just returned from
3 beautiful weeks in Scala Potamia. We booked in at Amalia apartments
and paid a deposit in January. When we arrived, to our horror, there
was a big building project next door. We could not hear ourselves
talk, or sit on our balcony because of the noise and dust. Apparently
this work had been going on for several weeks, and although we had
been in touch with the owner by email he had not told us about it.
We stayed one night and then moved to Hepih Studios where we were
made very welcome and extremely well looked after. So far have not
had any or part of our deposit for Amalia returned to us."
From Phil and Trudy, Kent, UK.
29 Sept 2005 - "Have just returned from a
lovely week in Golden Beach. It was our first visit and I doubt
Its the last. We stayed at the Athina, which was superbly placed
In the resort. It was a good base, as It was clean and tidy and
very comfortable. I may be wrong but It looks as though the Athina
has gone the way of the Blue Bay and I believe the Emerald, taken
off Thomsons list for next year. For whatever reason, this Is bad
news for those that enjoyed their stays there. The stranglehold
the tour ops have to the Island Is unfair, so we need the chance
to get there Independently. This may seem daunting to some, but
Is actually great fun, as we did It to Australia last year, all
booked via the Internet and all went smoothly. Anyway, back to the
resort, very peaceful place great to relax and do nothing!! Most
places the food Is good, although the menus are much the same. The
Agean bar was nice, lovely Ice cold beer! May well return again
next year."
From Peter Kerrone, Thornton - Cleveleys, Lancs,
UK.
29 Sept 2005 - "Stuart Miller makes a very
valid point in regard to the logistics of transfers from the airport
to Kavala port. I agree that a planeload of independent travellers,
would swamp the available taxis. At present, we are a long way from
budget flights, but since my last posting, I have been promised
a detailed reply from BMI.
I am certain, that should we succeed in setting up flights, we will
be able to arrange for a local coach company to pick up on transfers.
It is encouraging to note that you are responding with constructive
ideas. Keep them coming!"
From Pete & Chris Doyle, Wallasey, UK
27 Sept 2005 - "Just want to add to all
the messages,we've just spent our first holiday on Thassos staying
in Skala Potomia and it certainly will NOT be our last.Hired a
jeep for the middle week and spent many hours/days just driving
around the Island taking in the beauty and even went up the mountain.Only
problem(if you can call it that) was the wasps,my wife is terrified
by them other than that we could find nothing to complain about,The
people both local and ex-pat were lovely, the food/drink superb
and the weather was excellant"
From Stuart Miller, Kent, UK.
25 Sept 2005 - "Hello fellow Thassophiles.
I've been interested in all the recent debate around travelling
independently to Thassos, and the suggestions of a low cost airline
flying to Kavala. We've just returned from another glorious holiday
on our favourite Greek island, travelling and booking accommodation
independently. In doing so, I took a great interest in the logistics
of getting from the airport to our destination (the Souzanna Studios
in Skala Potamia).
We had no problems. Although our luggage was almost last off the
plane, we easily got a taxi which got us to Keramoti with 4 minutes
to spare to get the 1215 ferry. At the ferry port at Limenas however,
there was just one taxi free. We were first off the ferry, so again
no problem. However, for those following it could only have meant
a walk into town to the taxi rank to get transport.
For the return trip we booked a taxi to the ferry port. At Keramoti
we were off the ferry like greyhounds to get to the taxi rank but
had to wait a good 20 minutes for a taxi to the airport. We were
second in the queue and while we waited a sizeable number of people
built up behind us.
So there could be a logistical problem if a plane load of (say)
100 or more independent travellers descended on the island all at
once requiring transport. The current infrastructure is not geared
up to cope with such volumes of people. The ferries are not a problem
but travelling airport to ferry, ferry to accommodation and vice
versa for the return undoubtably would be.
This is where the package firms score, because they have the transfers
absoloutely sorted.
Perhaps what needs to be done is to lobby the tour operators to
rekindle their interest in Thassos. This website proves that the
island is extremely popular so there must be an incentive for them
to market holidays to Thassos. Otherwise perhaps some entrepreneur
reading this might see a business opportunity in setting up a transfer
process to accommodate independent travellers to Thassos.
On a more positive note, we had a glorious time revisiting our old
haunts - Megas Alexandros and Akrogiali in Skala Potamia and Finikas
near Golden Beach - great food and excellent hospitality. The Souzanna
studios are without doubt the best accommodation we've ever stayed
in anywhere in Greece. And, having visited the island for 8 years
now, we thought we'd been everywhere and seen everything, but off-roading
one day we came across the tiny church of Profitis Ilias where the
views down to Kinira and Skala Potamia and Golden Beach were just
totally breathtaking - worth the cost of the holiday alone!"
From mr &mrs w parsons, united kingdom.
19 Sept 2005 - "my wife and i taveled to
thassos in may of this year . our first visit ,and an was a little
unsure . but on arrivel we knew we had made a wise choice. just
half a day and we fell in love with thassos.
we would like to thank the owners of the villa dafni for a wonderful
and relaxing stay for 14 nights. the island was just fab and we
willbe comming back again. the people of thassos are so welcomming
too.
thank you thassos."
From Martin & Lorna, UK.
14 Sept 2005 - "Emerald/Smaragdi 11 Apartments
are fantastic !!!
On arrival you cannot fail to be impressed by the stunning sea views
from your balcony(all apartments have sea view). Apartments are
clean modern and well equipped. All are en suite(good shower always
with ample hot water), have a fridge with ice compartment, two ring
hob, radio, tv(which we never needed), and balcony with small patio
table and chairs and stunning view. Bed linen and towels changed
3 times weekly. The only thing we could fault was the lack of air
conditioning, Greece is very hot at nights in summer, however these
apartments are not expensive. The apartments are only a five minute
walk from the beach, supermarket and tavernas but the hill is very
steep and unsuitable for anyone who is not fit and able. The stunning
views and friendly welcome, however, are worth the effort.
Meet Costas!!!
Costas is the owner manager and you will not find a friendlier more
helpful host anywhere. Whether you want local advice, a taxi, a
take away meal to eat on your balcony, or just some good company
whilst you drink at his well stocked poolside bar then Costas is
your man. The bar has stunning views and is the perfect place to
end the day after eating out at one of the many good local tavernas/restaurants.
Costas will keep the bar open as late as you like and having a huge
collection of CD's will play whatever music you fancy. That said
the apartments are quiet having double glazing and security shutters.
If you are looking for a relaxing holiday with sun, sea, stunning
scenery and good food then Thassos fits the bill. You will find
it hard to beat the warm welcome extended by Costas at the Emerald
Hotel in Golden beach."
From Peter Kerrone, Thornton - Cleveleys, Lancs,
UK.
13 Sept 2005 - "It would appear that many
of the regular Thassos disciples, and contributors to this website,
are now beginning to realise that Julie Flaherty and myself are
not the 'alarmists' that some may have at first thought. It is now
becoming apparent, that travel to our favoured isle next year will
not be easy. The posting regarding 'Blue Bay Hotel', is another
example of the tour company's being selective in their choice of
offered accommodation. It is quite possible, that the owners of
that Hotel, may have requested an increase of rate from Thomson's,
and because they have the pick of the island, they can drop them,
and choose another 'cheapie'. I realise that I may just be being
cynical, but do you know any large companies that aren't? If I am
correct in this assumption, then the logical consequences of such
policies, will result in the cheapest accommodations being included
in their brochures, and the choices being narrowed even further.
I have written to Jet2.com and BMI Baby, in the hope of generating
some interest in a flight only option opening up Thassos on a twice
weekly basis from airports in the North, Midlands and South. I have
suggested, that rather than the usual 'loss leader' style of marketing,
as adopted by Easyjet and Ryanair, (1p. per flight + taxes etc.).
A £100.00 each way fare, (inclusive of all taxes), irrespective
of dates, would be a winner with the Thassos enthusiasts, and we
would fill every plane from May to September! The average package
flight only fares for next year, are around £280.00 return,
but they have VERY LIMITED availability.
My reasoning behind this, is that it also opens up the option for
staying for three or more weeks, (should you be in such a lucky
position), and also, online bookings allow you to book that odd
week later in the season, and know the cost. Of course, the operators
MIGHT want to offer the occasional cheap flights, and we will be
only too pleased to take advantage of them!
The main thing is, PLEASE BACK THIS CAMPAIGN!! We need to convince
flight operators that there is a genuine demand for alternative
flight options to Thassos, and that we can fill their planes.
PLEASE WRITE TO Jet2.com and BMi Baby, and back the cause. At present,
there are only two of us doing anything, and we ain't loud enough!!
Despite sending s.a.e's to both companies, they have not had the
courtesy to reply to me, - if they don't, then I'll demand me stamps
back!!"
From dave morton, derbyshire,
05 Sept 2005 - "The Blue Bay Hotel @ Golden
Beach is no longer on the Thomson list. What has happened to this
beautiful little bed & breakfast ???"
From carol and roy williamson, bolton lancs,
england.
05 Sept 2005 - "had our 8th year in the lovely
scala potamia this year due to Golden Sun going under we had to
find alternative accomodation this we did in the Kamelia Hotel just
over the bridge from the krambruso. what can one say about this
place except how lovely it was, and considering the location it
was really quiet at night. We had a wonderful room always spotlessly
clean and the most friendliest owners you could wish for we are
already booked in for next year and look forward to renewing old
friendships and once again eating at our two favourite tavernas
megos alexandros and korelli and can't wait to get to thomis bar(hope
that is how it is spelt but not to sure) look forward to seeing
you all in june 2006
all the best for christmas to you all"
From Amy Francis, Wrexham, Wales.
30 Aug 2005 - "Myself and my pearents have
been visiting Thassos for 8years and we love the island very much
!! It's very relaxing and a very beautiful island. The island
itself is very green- The emerald waters, white sand and blue
sky make it so wonderful you will find anyone who visit's once
always revisits another year !!
Can i make a suggestion, anyone who is thinking of going to thassos-
visit the Golden Sand bar On the Golden beach front !!! it has
the most beautiful views of the sea and the staff are very friendly
!! My favourite taverna in thassos is the Finikas !! The food
is amazing and again the owners are very friendly it's also great
value for money !! There are also great shops and taverna's down
in skala potamias !!! enjoy"
From Stuart and Elaine Barden, West Yorkshire,
England.
25 Aug 2005 - "Visited Thassos for the fourth
time the third time at the louloudis studio's and wouldn't go anywhere
else on the island. The family are very friendly and helpful, the
apartments are spotless and very clean and the food is excellant.
The barbacue on a friday night is aimed at bringing all the guests
together on one big table and the food is plentiful and just keeps
coming, good value for 12 euro's and Soteria's home cooking is not
to be missed. Skala Rachoni nearby has some nice beaches particulary
Pahis beach. The little beach at Skala Marian around the one way
system and San Antonio beach are both favourites. The family have
now also opened the louloudis hotel close to Pahis beach and although
it only opened this summer has lots of potential at this early stage.
If this family ran a back street cafe in Oldham it would still be
a huge success! Our favourite eating spots around the island include
Pigi's in Thassos town, Krambousa at Skala Potamia and Zroom at
Potos. After reading the messages on the website we tried Toxitis
in the back streets of Thassos town as I had seen this previously
when walking through but found the food to be too salty. Having
being to the island for four years running we love it so much we
have bought land in the Skala Rachoni area ideally located between
two ferry ports, near the big supermarket and close to the market
and health centre at Prinos. This will mean of course many more
visits and possible retirement in Thassos when we leave the rat
race behind in the UK."
From Sarah Kendle, Berks, England.
25 Aug 2005 - "Hello Everyone
Having just returned from Thassos, I was interested to read the
recent postings re flights etc. This is the first year we travelled
independantly and I have to say found pleasantly easy (4 adults
and a 4 & 2 year old). I love the island - the people are so
friendly and Scala Potamia is such a fantastic place. We booked
our flights back in January and they cost £254 plus tax each
(£234 for each child). This was through Thomas Cook and we
flew with Excel Airways - I did try & book direct with them
and sent an email about it, but they do not take bookings direct
at present - maybe this is an option in the future? They do fly
to Thessalonika which you can book on the website and this is about
half the price but we couldnt face that long drive with the children
in tow this year. I totally agree with Julie & Peter about getting
a low cost airline to fly direct to Kavala -it would make life so
much easier and are the 'Faliraki'people really going to bother
booking a flight and accomodation seperatly? Anyway, this year we
had a lovely time - weather was great (apart from mini-monsoon....it
hailed!!!!!but nevertheless disapeared as quickly as it had arrived)
We stayed again with friendly Apostolos & Amalia at the lovely
Villa Amalia which was great although building work began next door
half way through our holiday - fortunately it was sporadic (!!!greek
builders seem to take a LOT of coffee breaks) - actually there seemed
to be quite a bit of construction going on as well as plots of land
for sale, however it didn't detract from our enjoyment.
We enjoyed eating out and would like to recommend the Green Sea,
the Alkyoni (greek night thurs & sun)& who are particularly
child-friendly) and the Theagenus apparently the oldest taverna
in Scala Potamia! Also we would highly recommend the AGEAN bar which
is near the beach towards the end of the resort (Golden Beach direction)We
had a lovely welcome from Ann & Iain - (a very friendly english
couple who are in their first season on the island but have been
going for years) Great snacks & breakfasts and also good for
a nightcap - great cocktails! We will definately be back to the
island and would highly recommend travelling independantly."
From Alan Rowe, Devon, England.
24 Aug 2005 - "Hi to you all
Intersesting reading like most of you I am a massive Thassos fan
(been visiting for 21 years)
There is no doubt that it is getting harder to fly to kavala, this
year we flew to Thessaloniki and then hired a car for the fortnight
and drove to Keramoti (2 and a half hours)
We flew with BA from Gatwick, I booked the flights in january for
the 7th Aug and got them for £132.00 each (£528 total)
the ferry crossing including the car was 14 euros, we stayed in
Limenas at the Kipos apartments which are literally next door to
the Pigi Taverna. The apartments slept 4 comfortably and there is
a swimming pool. There are cheaper alternatives but this is the
first time that i have travelled with children so I thought it necessary
to have a swimming pool (not really needed)
I still reckon I did the whole fortnight for less than £1800
including car (spending money on top) which is cheaper than what
the brochures were quoting for this period.
It is not a bad drive to Thessaloniki and the new road is nearing
completion which should make the journey even quicker, having said
that i would much rather fly to Kavala but friends of mine were
quoted £380 each for 1 weeks flight only with Thomsons.
In the end they booked a package for £340 each in Skala Potamia
but stayed in Limenas.
There certainly is a need for a flight only into Kavala, it would
be full every week and the hotel owners on the island would benefit
rather than the greedy tour companies." |
