| Average daily tempreatures rise rapidly
from the mid 60's at Easter time to the 90's during July and
August.
The rise in temperature usually coincides
with a drop in the wind - this is because the island is farther
north than most of the Greek holiday island, and is sheltered
from the prevailing winds by the mainland.
This results in the hot summer months being
relatively sticky - and results too in a few too many mosquitos
for the comfort of some.
Through late April, May and June, and then
again in October, the weather on Thassos can be compared to
a good British summer. |
